Bill Kemp Presents Ornamental Spencerian

Bill Kemp from Albuquerque, New Mexico will be coming to Austin to teach Ornamental Spencerian October 25-26, 2025. There are currently openings in the class due to some cancellations.
This class will have us learning about the Spencerian hand. This hand was developed by Platt Rogers Spencer in the 19th century in America. We will spend two days learning this wonderful hand. Bill will provide the handouts and guide sheets for each student to print out themselves. He is recommending that all guide sheets be printed out on blank Rhodia paper.
Supplies Needed:
- Oblique pen holder for right handers 
- Straight holder for left handers 
Nibs Experienced Calligraphers
- Hunt 101 - very flexible nib 
- Hunt 22 - flexible nib 
- Gillott 303 - very flexible nib 
Beginner/Novice Calligraphers
- Nikko G 
- Gillott 404 or 1068A 
- Also, a flexible nib for the second day 
Ink
- Norton Walnut ink or an ink that will produce fine lines 
Paper
- Blank Rhodia paper for copying guide sheets 
- Rhodia graph paper square 3/16" for capitals 
Plastic
- To protect floor area and your table from ink spills 
- Note taking supplies 
- Seat cushion if needed 
Cost: $135 for CCS members, $136 through PayPal
Cost: for non-guild members, $135.00 plus the cost of guild dues
