We
meet from September through May! We
do not have general meetings during the summer, although we do have a
study group which meets during the day (third Wednesday, from 1:15 till
3:30...at North Village Branch Library 2505 Steck...) Study group meets
year round.
If
you would like to join, please
feel free to attend our next upcoming meeting -2nd
THURSDAY (unless indicated differently here on the site). The
location is 6600 Woodrow Ave, Austin..at the Faith Lutheran church 2nd level... follow signs..) If the
president or membership personnel does not greet you, just
ask someone who the membership chairperson is! We don't bite!
Membership
includes 8-10
emailed newsletters a year (The Capital Letter), member Roster,
directory with policies and bylaws, workshop
discounts, Large, Private calligraphic library access, "Newbies" series
demos, mentors, major and mini workshops. "Goody Packs" with
donated items will be distributed to new members. The "Newbies
Educational Series" is a free ongoing program each month to ease our
newer members into the guild and help them learn the lingo.
There are oodles of opportunities
for involvement…IN MAY we elect new Board Members. Volunteer
positions available in our organization including President, Vice
President, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, Treasurer,
Historian, Membership, Publicity, Workshops, Library, Exhibits,
Resource, & Newsletter Staff.
We are always seeking motivated and
enthusiastic individuals to lead our guild for the upcoming year. If
you are interested in working on a committee, please contact us!

Membership is open to all who
believe in the purpose of Capital City Scribes. Membership inquiries
should be sent to CCS, P.O. Box 5427, Austin, Texas 78763. Annual
membership dues are $25 to be paid in January of each year for new and
renewing members. For NEW members: (joining other than in the renewing
period), your membership will automatically be extended for the next
year as a "bennie". Therefore, in January you won't owe the $25 for
that entire year....until the following January. DISCOUNTS!
