Newbies:
We LOVE our "Newbies"!

Welcome to all the New Members that have signed up in the last few months!

If you appreciate beautiful Lettering or Lettering Arts then we encourage you come. Come check us out!

(You will see how fun it is.... There is nothing to lose by checking us out!)

We have instated a program JUST for the newer members called the "Newbies Educational Series" . These are free, ongoing sessions given certain months to ease our newer members into the guild as well as help them learn the lingo. It is intended to be just an introduction to the different hands... not an actual workshop. This way, you can see what Calligraphy is all about, ask the burning questions that you "feel stupid" asking around seasoned calligraphers and meet others that are at the same level as you are!

These afternoon sessions are usually at a member's home on a Saturday or Sunday.  They are free but we just ask that you let the coordinator KNOW ahead of time that you will be attending and give a simple courtesy call if you can't make it.  The instructors are doing this out of the goodness of their heart and are taking time to put the class together and to have people showing up that weren't expected or worse yet... not having anyone show up after all the prep work, is very disheartening.   That is all we ask!  Many times, the instructor has just the right amount of handouts and free tools, etc. that is needed for the demo! You WON'T want to miss this!

As a newbie, you are only eligible for these sessions (NES) for three years from the month you join the guild.

In addition to the NES's, we also have a program for new members called:  "Pen Pals".  If you are interested in having a Seasoned Member be your Mentor, please see Pat Price or email her at patprice@sbcglobal.com
